Christopher Holth, Construction Project Manager with USI, reported Friday morning that the barricades have been pushed off the roadway, Randolph Street is open to traffic, and the detour is over.
Holth said the Road Construction Ahead signs will need to stay in place for a bit longer. USI still has pre-final walk-through, punch list work, and final walk-through to do in the upcoming weeks before they can come down. Some work will still occur on site, but it should be done without completely closing the bridge. However, it may be temporarily restricted to one lane, if necessary.
The new bridge lights are being left on for the burn-in phase to ensure there are no bad luminaires, but they should be on with the other street and park lighting once this is complete.\
