Putnam County Commissioner Woodall advances to November

For Rick Woodall, the opportunity to serve as a Putnam County Commissioner is something near and dear to his heart.

On Tuesday, voters in the Republican primary gave him the opportunity to move forward and continue serving, propelling him to a win over challenger Lee Price.

Woodall earned 2,016 votes or 65.12 percent of the vote, while Price earned 1,080 or just over 34 percent.

"I truly enjoy being a commissioner. I am greatly appreciative and humbled that the voters allow me to proceed to November for another term. As I stated, my priorities are the growth of this county and our infrastructure, especially bridges," Woodall told The Putnam County Post.

As for Price, he vowed to be back in another four years, as well as offering his support to Woodall.

"I did my part to try and make change happen, and I will be back at it in four years. I think it was a nice, clean race between Rick and I. I do believe if I would have maybe worked harder at it, it would have been better. Again, I respect Rick and losing to him is not a bad thing. I just hope in the next four years, he gets projects done that he wants to see done," Price said.
