Purdue Extension Marshall County is pleased to announce the hiring of a new 4-H and Youth Development Educator, Jayne Deaton.
Jayne was born and raised in Marshall County. She was raised in a 4-H family and was active in Horse & Pony, Junior Leaders, and various arts and crafts. She has spent over 30 years teaching, first in public schools in Indiana and more recently in charter and private Christian schools in the Phoenix area. Deaton has extensive experience with ELL students, as well as those who are differently abled. While she loved Arizona, it just wasn’t home.
In 2005, as a single parent, Jayne adopted twin boys from Guatemala, JayMason and JonMichael. Deaton is excited to move back home, where most of her family still lives. In addition to spending time with her family, Jayne also enjoys horses, and dogs, attending country and Christian concerts, church activities, festivals and fairs, and attending the theatre.
