Plymouth Robotics team 587W “Pinknado” from Lincoln Junior High School had a standout performance at the Chesterton/Duneland Winter MS VEX V5 High Stakes Robotics Competition, bringing home two awards.
The team earned the V5RC Judges Award, which is given to teams that show outstanding effort, perseverance, or unique accomplishments that don’t fit into other award categories. Judges recognized 587W for their hard work and creativity throughout the competition.
They also received the Chesterton "Handshake Award," which is given to teams that demonstrate a consistently positive attitude, no matter what challenges they face. Their sportsmanship and teamwork set them apart.
Team 587Z "Zingbots" had a dominant performance throughout the event, making it all the way to the semifinals before being eliminated. Teams 586X “Flying Purple Pigs” and 586Y “Yak” both had strong runs as well, making it to the quarterfinals before being knocked out.
These successes highlight the hard work of Lincoln Junior High’s robotics students and the school’s commitment to developing problem-solving and teamwork skills through STEM activities.
