Plymouth Police make 3 warrant arrests over weekend

Plymouth Police made three separate warrant-related arrests over four days, including one that ended with a foot chase along the riverbank.

It started Thursday, July 24th, when officers responded to the area of Water and Washington Streets after receiving reports of a man wanted on a nationwide parole warrant. Officer Thornton located 55-year-old Richard Milton of Plymouth in the backyard of a nearby residence. Milton ran, leading officers on a brief foot pursuit before he was found on the bank of the river and taken into custody. In addition to being held on the parole warrant, Milton faces a new charge of resisting law enforcement.

On Sunday afternoon around 12:25, Plymouth Police and Marshall County Deputies used a F-L-O-C-K camera alert to flag a westbound vehicle on U.S. 30 whose registered owner had multiple outstanding warrants from several counties. Officers stopped the vehicle near the intersection of U.S. 30 and U.S. 31. The driver, 31-year-old Paris Givens of Indianapolis, was taken into custody without incident. Givens was transported to the Marshall County Jail on the existing warrants and additional charges of driving while suspended with a prior and false informing. She was given a $500 cash bond and a court date in Marshall Superior Court II.

Later that same Sunday evening around 5 P.M., officers executed an arrest warrant at the Mallard Lake Apartments on Holloway Drive, taking 19-year-old Racquel Mattes of Plymouth into custody without incident. She was lodged at the Marshall County Jail on the outstanding warrant.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
