Plymouth man arrested for methamphetamine possession in River Park Community on Baker Street

A Plymouth man was taken into custody late Monday evening after police responding to a suspicious circumstances call discovered methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in his possession.

At approximately 10:00 p.m. on Monday, August 3rd, Plymouth Police Officers were dispatched to a residence within the River Park Manufactured Home Community at 805 Baker Street — a 55+ residential community in Plymouth — following a report of suspicious activity in the area.

During the investigation, Officer Schieber made contact with Israel Rivas, 32, a resident of the River Park Community. Upon further investigation, Rivas was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Rivas was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Marshall County Jail, where he was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and held on a $1,500 cash bond.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
