The Plymouth Elks Lodge 2548 recently presented 348 flags to Plymouth American Legion Post 27. These flags will be placed on Veterans' headstones in Oak Hill Cemetery just before Memorial Day 2026. As Elks declare, “As long as there are Veterans, we will never forget.”
Plymouth Elks also donated a $1,000 Freedom Grant to U Matter 2. This organization helps Veterans in our community when they need it most by gathering essential items for those in homeless shelters transitioning into new homes, visiting Veterans in nursing homes, delivering food to Vets, providing transportation to VA Hospitals and appointments, and helping Veterans secure employment.
Plymouth Elks members give generously their time, energy, and resources to serve Veterans and military members in our community and those who reside at the Indiana Veterans Home in West Lafayette. They strive to help those in need with grants and volunteerism.
The Elks National Veterans Service Commission officially came into existence in 1946, on the heels of the War Commission ending and inspired by a passion for continuing to serve those who risked their lives for this country. As a national organization, the BPO Elks, along with many of our volunteers, provide direct service to veterans in more than 330 facilities each month. Through grants to Elks Lodges, we connect with veterans and military members in their communities, providing them with services where they live.
