City police arrested a 22-year-old Plymouth man on February 25th for driving while intoxicated.
At approximately 11:15 p.m., Officer Lovely with the Plymouth Police Department initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle at the intersection of LaPorte Street and Lake Avenue. The driver was identified as Joe Wayne Duncan of Holloway Drive. Duncan was found to be operating a vehicle while intoxicated. He was transported to the Marshall County Jail, booked in for OWI, and held on a $1,500 cash bond.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings, entitled to be represented by counsel, and entitled to a trial by jury, at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
