The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety and the Common Council will convene this evening in the second-floor Council Chambers at City Hall for back-to-back meetings covering departmental updates, salary ordinances, and a key economic development resolution.
The Board of Public Works and Safety meeting kicks things off at 6:00 p.m., featuring departmental reports from various city department heads.
The Common Council meeting follows at 6:30 p.m. in the same room. Council members will consider the 2027 Salary Ordinance on both second and third readings. Also on the agenda is the first reading of an ordinance setting salaries for elected officials as part of the 2027 budget, along with an ordinance for the Aviation Rotary Fund.
In addition, the Council will review a resolution declaring an Economic Revitalization Area (ERA), which serves as the first step in the Tax Abatement process for AK Industries. The designation, if approved, would be a key move toward providing tax incentives for the local business.
Both meetings are open to the public. Attendees should enter the Garro Street entrance and proceed to the second floor. The meetings will also be live-streamed on the City of Plymouth YouTube Channel for those unable to attend in person.
