The Plymouth High School Boys Tennis Team has been recognized as an IHSAA Team Academic All-State Award recipient for the 2025 Boys Tennis season, celebrating the team’s outstanding commitment to excellence both on and off the court.
To earn this distinction, a team must achieve a cumulative, non-weighted GPA of 3.6 or higher on a 4.0 scale. All varsity players eligible for postseason competition contribute to this academic average.
For Plymouth, the 2025 award reflects the combined efforts of: Liam Hanyzewski, Jonah Rich, Caleb Edmiston, Nick Manzuk, Owen Walleske, Benson Prater, Landon Tyler, and Logan Nelson, who together earned an impressive 3.641 team GPA.
“This is an award that we have accomplished many times in the past, and each of the last two seasons,” said Head Coach Brad Haeck. “At Plymouth, we have been blessed over the years with many great student-athletes who understand the importance of their academics in the big picture.”
Coach Haeck added, “As a coach, it’s important to teach your players more than just the skills of the sport, but also time management and life lessons. Our kids value their academics, and as coaches, we are proud of them for their continued emphasis on education.”
The recognition emphasizes Plymouth Tennis program’s tradition of balancing athletic discipline with academic achievement, a core value of Plymouth Community School Corporation’s mission to develop well-rounded student-athletes.
