Parke Heritage High School and Parke Heritage Middle School FFA members recently competed in the area and state livestock skillathon contests.
At the area contest, Eli Seay was the eighth overall individual in the junior contest. Team placings for the junior contest were sixth place team: Eli Seay, Julia Helderman, Max Jeffries, and Krede Shields; eighth place team: Bodie Thornton, Hayes Witty, Ellyrae Rader, and Keegan Shields; and the ninth place team: Emelia Chapman, Kelby Schelsky, Kennedy Mager, and Jackson Wrightsman.
In the senior division for the area contest, placings were fifth place team: Stormi Swaim, Sarah Thom, Lydia Jeffries, and Hayden Holcomb; 10th place team: Lane Helderman, Brooklynn McMullen, Whitney Swaim, and Kenleigh Berry; and the 13th place team: Cohen Berry, Kennedy Mitchell, Alisa McMullen, and Emma Pezan.
At the state contest, the team of Julia Helderman, Eli Seay, Max Jeffries, and Krede Shields placed 23rd. Finishing in 65th place was the team of Ellyrae Rader, Bodie Thornton, Keegan Shields, and Hayes Witty.
