Plymouth Community School Corporation announced the hiring of Amanda Bender as the district's new Human Resource Specialist.
Bender brings expertise in business operations, financial management, and employee development to her new role.
Bender is a Plymouth High School alumnus from the Class of 2012. Her background includes serving as Accounting/HR Manager at Swan Lake Resort, where she played a pivotal role in financial planning, employee onboarding, and training processes. Her career also includes experience as a staff accountant at Kuhn Dillon Umbaugh LLC and as an assistant branch manager at Enterprise.
In addition to her background in business operations, she has been the head gymnastics coach at Plymouth High School since 2017. She was named ICGSA District 1 Coach of the Year in 2022.
In her new role as Human Resource Specialist, Bender will oversee employee recruitment, onboarding, and benefit administration while supporting staff across the district to ensure PCSC continues to foster a positive and productive work environment.
"I'm looking forward to pouring back into a corporation that has poured so much into me over the years. I really want to break the negative stigma that HR can have and really reframe that we are truly here to help our employees to be the best professionals and educators that they can be while making PCSC a great place to work and learn!" said Bender.
Bender holds a Master of Science in Athletic Administration from Ohio University and dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Business Administration with focuses on Accounting and Golf Management from Trine University.
Outside of her professional work, Bender enjoys spending time with her husband, Brodie, and their three children: Olivander (6), Beckett (4), and Arabelle (2 months). She is also a huge Purdue sports fan.
