There was a strong voter turnout in Lawrence County for Tuesday's presidential election.
Just over 70 percent of registered voters cast ballots. In the presidential race, Donald Trump took 77 percent of the votes, while Kamala Harris received 21 percent and Robert Kennedy Jr. two percent.
In the race to represent Illinois' 12th Congressional District, which includes Lawrence County, Representative Mike Bost (R - Murphysboro) defeated Democrat Brian Roberts (Xenia) with 79 percent of the vote.
Lawrence County State's Attorney Brady Waldrop, Circuit Clerk Cheryl Winkles and Coroner Shannon Steffey all ran unopposed. So did Lawrence County board members Jordan Feutz, James Brewer and Grant McDonald.
