Watterson joins Riverside Intermediate School from the LaPorte Community School Corporation.
The Plymouth Community School Corporation announced the appointment of Natalie Watterson as the new Vice Principal of Riverside Intermediate Wednesday.
Watterson joins Riverside Intermediate School from the LaPorte Community School Corporation, where she served as Assistant Principal/Dean of Students. In this role, she led administrative efforts for the 5th grade, overseeing approximately 450 students and 20 teachers. Her responsibilities included advising and counseling students, maintaining regular communication with parents, and leading the Parent and Community Engagement committee, which organizes significant school community events.
Before being appointed Assistant Principal, Watterson was an Instructional Data Coach at LaPorte from 2021 to 2023. In this capacity, she was instrumental in designing and implementing a guaranteed and viable curriculum, analyzing data to set school and grade-level goals, and facilitating professional development for staff. Her leadership roles extended to coordinating site testing and co-chairing the Guaranteed & Viable Curriculum Committee.
Watterson’s career in education began as a 7th-grade Social Studies teacher, where she excelled in creating engaging lessons aligned with state curriculum standards and analyzing data to enhance student achievement.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Watterson holds a master's degree in educational administration and Supervision from Ball State University, a Transition to Teach Graduate Program certification from Bethel University, and dual bachelor's degrees in history and communication from Purdue University Northwest.
