The driver of a motorcycle was killed in a Cass County crash Tuesday.
Just after 3 p.m., dispatch received a call for a single-vehicle motorcycle crash on State Road 16 east of Cass County Road 525 West. Several deputies responded along with the Royal Center Fire Department, Cass County EMA, Cass County Emergency Services, Logansport Police and the county coroner’s office.
David Ferringer, 72, of Battle Ground, IN, was operating a 2026 Harley – Davidson motorcycle westbound on SR 16 and veered off the south side of the road where it hit a utility pole.
Ferringer was not wearing a helmet. The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says an underlying medical condition may have contributed to the crash.
Some passersby attempted life saving efforts but Ferringer was declared dead at the scene.
