Marshall County Sheriff's Department reports 2 OWI arrests over weekend

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department reported Monday the arrests of two individuals on charges of Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) following separate incidents over the past weekend. These arrests underscore the department's ongoing commitment to ensuring road safety within Marshall County.

The first incident occurred on Saturday, November 27th, at approximately 9:24 p.m., when Officer Geiger was dispatched to the area of 4th and Grape Roads for a single-vehicle accident. A vehicle, driven by 32-year-old Jordan Miller of Upas Road in Culver, was found in a ditch, with Miller initially unresponsive. After being evaluated by emergency medical services at the scene and a local hospital, and following further investigation and testing, Miller was taken into custody for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. He was transported to the Marshall County Jail and held on a $1,500 cash bond.

In a separate incident on Friday, November 28th, at approximately 9:32 p.m., Officer Truty conducted a traffic stop on U.S. 30 near Plymouth Goshen Trail due to a moving violation. During the subsequent investigation, the driver, identified as Mauro R. Sosa Meza, 48, of Chicago, exhibited signs of alcohol intoxication. Sosa Meza was arrested and transported to the Marshall County Jail. He faces charges of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .08% or more, and operating a motor vehicle endangering. He was also held on a $1,500 cash bond.
