A 34-year-old man wanted on multiple felony warrants out of neighboring St. Joseph County was taken into custody Thursday afternoon in Plymouth and is now facing an additional local charge.
At approximately 2:30 p.m. on March 5, Officer Fase with the Plymouth Police Department located the suspect, identified as Christian Wade, at a property in the 1000 block of Ed Cook Boulevard.
Officers knew Wade had active felony arrest warrants out of St. Joseph County. During the encounter, Wade allegedly provided false information to law enforcement, resulting in an additional local charge.
Wade was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Marshall County Jail. He was booked on the outstanding felony warrants as well as a new charge of making a false identity statement. He is currently being held on a $500 cash bond.
Charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed. Aguilera is presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and is entitled to be represented by counsel and to a trial by jury, at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
