Current Shelby County Sheriff Louie Koch released the following announcement regarding his intention to run for Shelby County Council:
I am proud to announce my candidacy for Shelby County Council 1st District.
As a lifelong resident of Shelby County, I have dedicated my life to serving and protecting this community. For 27 years, I served with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, including two terms as your elected Sheriff. Those years taught me the value of leadership, accountability, and working side‑by‑side with the people who call this county home.
My commitment to Shelby County extends far beyond my career in law enforcement. I have remained active in our community, supporting local initiatives, engaging with families, and working to strengthen the place we all love.
I am running for County Council because I believe in responsible leadership, transparent decision‑making, and putting the needs of our residents first. I am committed to serving this county to the very best of my ability and ensuring that Shelby County continues to grow, thrive, and remain a place we are all proud to call home.
I look forward to earning your support.
