A Logansport man was sentenced to 138 years in prison last week for multiple counts of child molesting against multiple victims.
A jury trial found Scott VanArsdale, 39, of Logansport, guilty of nine charges related to the crimes on March 28. During the trial, Cass County Prosecutor Noah Schafer presented VanArsdale's criminal history, including prior felony convictions. The jury returned a second verdict finding VanArsdale guilty of being a habitual felon.
“We are grateful for the work of Detective Turney and the Cass County Sheriff's Department in aggressively pursuing and investigating these cases,“ Schafer said in a press release.
VanArsdale was handed his 138-year sentence on Thursday, April 24, by Cass County Superior Court 2 Judge Lisa Swaim, who noted VanArsdale's actions have caused “immense lifelong harm“ to his victims.
