A Logansport man is now facing 137 years in prison after a jury found him guilty last week for several molestation convictions.
Cass County Prosecutor Noah Schafer recently announced in a press release that Scott E. VanArsdale, 39, Logansport, was found guilty on Friday, March 28, of multiple counts of child molesting and sexual battery.
The charges pertained to four victims that spanned over the course of several years. Further evidence of VanArsdale's prior felony convictions was also presented during the trial's conclusion, resulting in the jury returning a second verdict finding the defendant guilty of being a habitual felon.
VanArsdale now faces a potential sentence of up to 137 years in prison. Sentencing is set for April 24.
“We are exceptionally proud of the work of the Cass County Sheriff's Department in investigation the case, and of the victims for bravely standing up to face the man who violated them. We are grateful for the attention and efforts of the jury who considered the evidence and returned a verdict that will remove a dangerous offender from Cass County for good,” Schafer said.
