The Lawrence County Unit #20 Board of Education met in regular monthly session Wednesday night at Lawrenceville High School (LHS). They approved a donation of storage units from Duke Energy. Also approved was the fire cadet program at LHS where four students will be eligible to assist local firefighters with some duties on actual fire runs. People's State Bank is also donating $10,000 to the updating of the scoreboards at each end of the LHS gymnasium with information such as player points, individual fouls and the like. The board also received a presentation from the Parkside TAG (Talented and Gifted) students. Superintendent Doug Daugherty also gave updates on the Parkview HVAC project and the possibility of having another day of non-attendence for the district on Tuesday April 9th (Eclipse Weekend), but no firm decision has yet been made.
