LaPaz man arreted in Taco Bell drive-thur on St. Joe County felony warrant

Officer Fisher with the Plymouth Police Department ran the license plate of a white 2009 Escalade early Monday morning, July 14^th, just after 1, and it came back with the registered owner being wanted out of Saint Joseph County.

The officer located the vehicle as it was pulling up at the traffic light at Michigan Street and Plymouth Goshen Trail. The vehicle pulled into the Taco Bell drive-thru, and the officer initiated the traffic stop.

The driver was identified as Gabrielle Vires, 43, of Kimble Street in LaPaz.

Officer Fisher was able to confirm from a BMV photo that the wanted person was the driver of the vehicle, and Marshall County Dispatch advised that the warrant was active for a felony.

Vires was taken into custody and transported to Marshall County Jail and booked in for the out-of-county warrant.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed, and there is only probable cause to believe that a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
