Following Thursday's storms, City of Kokomo crews are continuing efforts to clear trees, large limbs, and debris from streets, alleys, and sidewalks throughout the city.
Cleanup efforts are being prioritized in neighborhoods and areas that sustained the heaviest damage. Once those locations have been addressed, crews will move into areas with lesser impacts. City employees will continue storm cleanup operations on Saturday, and this work is expected to extend into next few weeks as crews also maintain other essential services, including scheduled paving and resurfacing projects.
Residents are encouraged to place piles of limbs and storm debris at the curb, consistent with standard collection practices, to help crews work as efficiently as possible.
If you are able, you may also take yard waste directly to GreenCycle, located at 1130 South Dixon Road. GreenCycle's current hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon.
