The Knox County Sheriff's Department reports that deputies conducted a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Malibu traveling near the intersection of 2nd and Vigo Streets Thursday around 6 p.m. ET.

A K-9 unit at the scene alerted authorities that there were drugs inside the vehicle. A subsequent search uncovered 10 pounds of methamphetamine inside.

The driver, 43-year-old Joesph Martinez, and a passenger 43-year-old Travis Heath were both arrested and booked into the Knox County Jail, where they were being held pending bond.

Both men have been preliminarily charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Distribution of Methamphetamine.
