Sunday morning, August 4th Corporal Ben McIntrye with the Plymouth Police Department observed an individual he knew that had a failure to appear warrant for fines and costs.
At about 9:45 a.m. he stopped 53-year-old Johnny Vance who has an address at the Red Rock Inn walking on the sidewalk on Michigan Street near the Speedway Gas Station.
After verifying the warrant, Vance was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Marshall County Jail. He was held on a $395 cash bond.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
