Beginning this week, taxpayers will be able to check their eligibility status for Tax Amnesty 2026.
The Indiana Department of Revenue (DOR) is partnering with United Collection Bureau (UCB) to offer this limited-time opportunity for taxpayers to pay past due, eligible taxes and receive a waiver on penalties, interest, and collection fees. Key elements of Tax Amnesty 2026 include:
- Timeframe: July 15 through Sept. 9, 2026
- Qualifications: Existing tax liabilities for all listed tax types managed by DOR or Motor Carrier Services for periods prior to Jan. 1, 2024
Available through INTIME at taxamnesty.in.gov, the tax amnesty tool will allow individuals and businesses to check their eligibility to participate. Then they will need to log in to INTIME or create an account for more information regarding their eligible liabilities. If they are not logged in to INTIME, the eligibility tool will only show they owe amnesty-eligible liabilities.
UCB or DOR will also contact taxpayers directly regarding amnesty eligibility.
Once the Tax Amnesty 2026 period begins on July 15, taxpayers will be able to contact UCB to pay their eligible liabilities in full or set up an amnesty payment plan.
For a self-service option, they can log in to INTIME and look for the Tax Amnesty section under the summary tab. Starting July 15, INTIME will allow taxpayers to:
- Opt-in to amnesty
- Make amnesty payments
- Enter into an amnesty payment plan
Participation in Tax Amnesty 2026 requires agreeing to amnesty terms and either paying the base tax in full between July 15, 2026, and Sept. 9, 2026, or setting up and completing the terms of an amnesty payment plan agreement before June 7, 2027.
Eligible liabilities must total at least $100 for individuals, and $500 for businesses, to qualify for a payment plan. Once a payment plan has been established, individuals and businesses may check the status on INTIME if they have an account.
