The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) has announced that Illinois Route 33 will be closed for a tree removal project early next week. The road will be closed starting Monday January 29th from Lasata Lane to County Road 1040 North northeast of Westport. A detour will be posted utilizing US 50 and Illinois Route 1 from Lawrenceville to Robinson. Only local traffic will be permitted on Illinois Route 33 between Lasata Lane and CR 1040 N. Motorists are encouraged to follow the posted detour and allow for extra travel time.
