The REES Theatre has a remarkable week of entertainment ahead, with something for movie lovers and music fans alike.

On Wednesday, August 12th, at 2:00 p.m., The REES presents the Seasoned Citizen Movie screening of "Sweet Dreams" (1985), the powerful biographical drama that captures the remarkable life and unforgettable music of country legend Patsy Cline. Starring Academy Award-nominated actress Jessica Lange, the film follows Cline's incredible rise from humble beginnings to becoming a trailblazer in country music with beloved classics like "Crazy," "I Fall to Pieces," and "Walkin' After Midnight." Through stunning performances and original recordings from Patsy herself, "Sweet Dreams" brings her timeless music to life on the big screen.

Guests 55 and older enjoy admission for just $8, which includes popcorn and a drink. A special thank you goes out to Seasoned Citizen Movie sponsors Allen and Donna Pontius for their continued support in helping bring classic films and memorable experiences to the community. Tickets can be purchased online or at the Everwise Box Office at The REES on the day of the showing.

Then on Saturday, August 15th, at 7:30 p.m., The REES presents a high-energy night of blues with Big Daddy Dupree's Broke and Hungry Blues Band. Bringing a powerful, soul-infused sound straight from northern Indiana, this talented group delivers a hard-driving blues experience packed with grit, passion, and incredible musicianship. Featuring a dynamic horn section, strong vocals, and a tight rhythm lineup, their sound blends classic blues roots with touches of rock, jazz, and modern favorites — keeping audiences engaged from the first note to the last.

Known for their "down and dirty" blues style and energetic live performances, Big Daddy Dupree and the band create an atmosphere that's both authentic and electrifying — perfect for longtime blues lovers and new fans alike.

The REES extends sincere gratitude to Yellow River Tap & Eatery for sponsoring the upcoming concert. Their generous support helps the theatre continue bringing outstanding live entertainment to the community while preserving the historic REES Theatre for generations to come. Concertgoers are encouraged to stop by Yellow River Tap & Eatery to enjoy their delicious food, cold drinks, and welcoming atmosphere before the show.

Tickets for the Big Daddy Dupree concert can be purchased online, at Na Rie Simple Treasures at 104 N. Michigan Street, or the night of the event at the Everwise Box Office at The REES.
