Approximately 30 students ranging in grades fourth through sixth learned quite a bit about what goes into being a Greencastle Police officer recently during the Summer Kids Boot Camp.
According to Greencastle Police Chief Christopher Jones, this year's camp was a huge success, as both he and his department enlighted students about the history of the police department, did K-9 demonstrations, taught water safety and defensive tactics, firearms safety, how the criminal justice system works and the week ended with a graduation and pizza party.
"It's always fun to see the students take part in the event and learn a little bit more about the police department and what police officers do," Jones said.
