Greencastle Fire Department B-Shift crews were dispatched to a structure fire on Martinsville Street.
Just after 2 a.m. Wednesday, crews encountered fire through the roof at the rear of the structure.
A quick knockdown was completed, followed by a transition to interior fire attack. The fire was brought under control. Crews remained on scene for several hours conducting overhaul due to multiple void spaces that allowed fire extension within the structure
.
All occupants were out of the residence upon arrival, and no injuries were reported.
GFD was assisted on scene by Cloverdale Fire, Fillmore Fire, Madison Fire, Bainbridge Fire, Putnam County EMS, Greencastle Police Department, and DePauw Police.
