The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has issued a proposed plan for the cleanup of five areas of the former Indian Refinery superfund site in south Lawrenceville.
The plan can be reviewed at the Lawrence Public Library in Lawrenceville. It's also available on the Illinois EPA general public notices webpage.
A 30-day comment period is underway from now until February 13, to provide an opportunity for the public to participate in the final selection of the cleanup options.
The Illinois EPA will host a public meeting on Wednesday, January 29 at 6 p.m. CT at Lawrenceville High School.
Public comment on the plan can be made orally or in writing at that session following a formal presentation.
