Easterday Construction Co., Inc. of Culver was recognized as a Legacy Member by the Associated Builders & Contractors of Indiana/Kentucky (ABC) during a dedication ceremony Wednesday, September 9, at ABC's newly remodeled Elkhart facility.

Easterday Construction, a 43-year member of ABC, was one of six longstanding members honored for not only their membership duration, but also their commitment and support of the ABC apprenticeship training program that takes place at the facility acquired in 2024.

In addition to the company's Legacy Member recognition, Kevin Berger of Easterday Construction was individually recognized for his many years of serving with distinction on the ABC Board of Directors. Berger was honored alongside Rick Slagle of Majority Builders, who was also recognized for his service on the board.

The six companies recognized as Legacy Members were:

Easterday Construction Co., Inc. — Culver — 43-year member

Steinberger Construction, Inc. — Logansport — 54-year member

Beer & Slabaugh, Inc. — Nappanee — 51-year member

Ancon Construction Co., Inc. — Goshen — 50-year member

DJ Construction Co., Inc. — Goshen — 43-year member

Majority Builders, Inc. — South Bend — 36-year member

The ceremony was attended by Congressman Rudy Yakym, along with State Representatives Doug Miller and Jake Teshka. Congressman Yakym addressed attendees, praising ABC for its thoughtful moment of silence honoring the 25th anniversary of 9/11. He underscored the importance of merit shop principles and the growing strength of apprenticeship programs in the construction industry.

The dedication ceremony celebrated the recent remodeling of ABC's Elkhart facility, which serves as a hub for apprenticeship training that helps develop the next generation of skilled construction professionals across Indiana and Kentucky.
