Officer Lovely with the Plymouth Police Department observed an accident at U.S. 30 and Oak Drive Tuesday evening that resulted in the arrest of a Silver Lake woman.
August 6th at 6 p.m. the officer saw a black Chevrolet truck crash into another vehicle and drive into the median at the intersection of U.S. 30 and North Oak Drive.
During the investigation, the officer believed that the Chevy truck driver, 42-year-old Leanna Elliott, was impaired. She was given field sobriety testing and failed. Ms. Elliott was transported to Saint Joseph Hospital for a certified chemical test and then to Marshall County Jail, where she was lodged for operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangerment as a class A misdemeanor and operating a vehicle while intoxicated by a controlled substance as a class C misdemeanor. She was held on a $1,500 cash bond.

They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
