Plymouth - David Alan McLiver, 70, born April 26, 1955, passed away April 2, 2026, surrounded by his family.
David lived a life marked by service, hard work, and devotion to his family. He graduated from Manchester College and began his career teaching at Benton Central. He later returned home to work in the family business, Town and Country Press. In the mid-1990s, he returned to education, teaching and coaching swimming and diving. In the early 2000s, he became an insurance salesman and ran for State Representative in 2004.
During his children’s school years, David was a dedicated band booster, supporting the marching band and the numerous sports his children participated in. He was also a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served in many leadership callings.
David enjoyed golfing, camping, and spending time with his beloved dogs.
He was preceded in death by his father, Archie McLiver; his mother, Martha McLiver; and his wife, Julie McLiver.
He is survived by his children: David McLiver of Indianapolis, IN (wife Katy; children Liam and Lorelai); John (Jack) McLiver of Lakeport, MI (wife Emily; children Declan, Lucy, Cora, and Ivy); Jarom McLiver of Whitestown, IN (wife Jennifer; children Emmaline, Christian, Jameson, and Adeline); and Amy McLiver of Plymouth, IN; and his sister, Sherrie Martin (husband Phil).
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 11th at 10:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 9645 Deer Trail Plymouth, Indiana.
