The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department is warning citizens of a scam.
In a Facebook post, they say, “Scammers are impersonating police officers on phone calls demanding money or personal information, often claiming a warrant or debt exists, and threatening arrest if payment is not made.
The Sheriff’s Department urges citizens to treat such calls as scams, verify information independently, and never share financial information or make payments to unknown individuals.
Officers from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department will never call and demand money transactions or ask for your personal information.
