On Sunday, Sept. 27, at 7:34 PM, a vehicle was stopped on U.S. 31 near the intersection with 17th Road for exceeding the posted speed limit.
Through interactions with the driver and later a certified chemical test, probable cause was developed that the driver was under the influence of alcohol. Earl Thompson, 82, of Indianapolis, was arrested and booked into the Marshall County Jail for Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated Endangering a Person.
Suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
