Deputies arrested an Indianapolis man who was speeding for OWI and reckless driving on Friday, and a Warsaw man for speeding and unsafe lane movement on Saturday.
On Friday at about 5:30 pm, Marshall County Deputy Geiger stopped a black Jeep on U.S. 30 at the east county line for speeding 93 mph in a posted 60 mph zone.
It was determined that Shawn C. Allen Jr. of Indianapolis had been drinking. He agreed to field sobriety tests and a certified breath test and was found to have been intoxicated at .10%. Allen was arrested for operating while intoxicated, reckless driving, and having an open container of alcohol.
He was held in the Marshall County Jail on a $1500 cash bond for nine hours until his bond was paid and he was released.

On Saturday at approximately 12:45 a.m., Deputy Williams conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding and unsafe lane movement on U.S. 30 and Cedar Road.
The driver, 22-year-old Evin Gerardo Cruz-Martinez of Warsaw, was found to have never received a license. He was taken into custody and booked into the county jail for operating a vehicle without ever obtaining a license and held on a $100 cash bond for 22 minutes until posting bond. 
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
