A 63-year-old Wyatt man was arrested by county police for leaving the scene of an accident.
On Wednesday, November 19th, the Marshall County Central Dispatch Center was notified of an accident on State Road 331 at 1st Road in Bremen.
Marshall County deputies were dispatched to the scene and were told that a person had left heading north.
Deputy Geiger located the vehicle involved and took the driver into custody. The driver was identified as 63-year-old John Dreibelbis Jr. of Wyatt. It was found that Dreibelbis had been drinking and was intoxicated. He had a blood alcohol content of over three times the legal limit.
He was first checked out at the hospital and then taken to the Marshall County Jail, where he was booked for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and leaving the scene of a property damage accident and held on a $1500 cash bond. The bond for Dreibelbis was posted at 4:15 Thursday afternoon and he was released on bond.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
