On Thursday, February 16th, (2023) at approximately 9:40 in the evening, Officer Alex Truty with the Marshall County Sheriff's Department executed a traffic stop on U.S. 30 and Apple Road for a moving violation. During the traffic stop, the Officer discovered that the driver, identified as Anthony Thomas Bowers Jr, age 19, of South Bend, was found to have no driver's license.
Mr. Bowers was transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked for Operator Never Licensed. The bond for Anthony T. Bowers, Jr was $100.
***Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
