Friday, Congressman Rudy Yakym (IN-02) issued the following statement after voting for H.R 5, the Parents Bill of Rights Act, legislation that passed the U.S. House of Representatives today:
“Parents have a fundamental right to play an active role in their children’s education.
“By making it easier for parents to stay informed about what their children are being taught and ensuring parents have a seat at the education table – something this commonsense legislation does – we can empower parents, protect their rights, and ultimately improve student outcomes across America.
“Children are America’s future: more parental involvement in education only makes students more successful and our nation stronger.”
