From new roads to safer bridges, communities across Indiana are getting a financial boost from the state — and every community in Marshall County is on the list.
On Wednesday, Indiana Governor Mike Braun presented nearly $110 million in state matching funds to local communities, money that will be used to improve infrastructure in 346 cities, towns, and counties across the state.
"Good roads and bridges are essential to strong communities and a growing economy," Braun said. "This funding ensures hundreds of Indiana communities have the necessary resources to make improvements that Hoosiers will see and use every day."
Communities submitted applications last month for the fiscal year 2027 funding cycle.
In Marshall County, every community that applied received an award. Each community was awarded funding. Argos was awarded $249,104, while Bourbon received $409,261 and Bremen $385,848. Culver will receive $352,072, while LaPaz was awarded $128,000 and Plymouth $329,000. Marshall County applied for the maximum $1 million but was awarded $445,794.
The state matching funds are designed to help local governments finance road, bridge, and other infrastructure improvements that residents rely on daily.
