During Monday’s County Commissioner meeting, Sheriff Matt Hassel presented a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the county and the Lake Maxinkuckee Association for lake patrol services.
The sheriff said the only change in the agreement was the termination date to coincide with the end of his term on December 31, 2026.
The commissioners approved the agreement.
Sandy Dunfee, Administrator of the County Health Department was given approval to apply for the Public Health Emergency Preparedness Grant. The commissioners also motioned to approve the agreement for the 317/COVID19 Bridge reimbursement grant. Dunfee told the commissioners this grant will allow them to offer adult vaccines to those who don’t have insurance or who’s insurance won’t cover immunizations.
Dunfee said the South Bend Medical Foundation bloodmobile at the County Building is having good turnouts and the will continue to host them about every 60 days until the weather gets bad.
