The City of Plymouth will be spending more than $250,000 of its American Rescue Plan (ARP) funds on placing new sidewalks throughout the city.
Monday evening, Dan Sellers, the City Engineer, presented the five sidewalk projects that must be under contract by the end of the year. He said the Board of Public Works and Safety will open sealed bids at their November 12th meeting and that the ARP funds must be used by the end of 2025.
The first sidewalk project is from Family Express to Dollar General on South Michigan Street. The second project is from Lemler Street to Jackson Heights Road along Michigan Street. Project number three is Lemler Street from South Michigan Street to Bayless Street on the south side of Webster Elementary School.
Sidewalk project number four is on the west side of town and puts a sidewalk on Washington Street from the Park Jefferson Apartments to Beerenbrook Street. The fifth and final project will be on Washington Street from Beerenbrook to Fifth Street.
Members of the Board of Public Works and Safety unanimously approved the sidewalk projects.
