Chicago Bears coming to Indiana: State Rep. Jordan celebrates landmark deal

Indiana State Representative Jack Jordan (R-Bremen) is celebrating what he called a "monumental day for Indiana" following the announcement that the Chicago Bears will build a world-class stadium facility in Hammond, Indiana.

The announcement marks a significant win for Northwest Indiana and the state as a whole, with the Bears' new facility expected to deliver a substantial economic boost to the region.

Rep. Jordan, who represents House District 17 — covering all of Fulton County and portions of Marshall and Pulaski counties — played an active role in making the deal happen, chairing House committee meetings on the matter and co-sponsoring the legislation that paved the way for the project.

"This is a monumental day for Indiana as the Chicago Bears are headed to Northwest Indiana," Jordan said in a statement issued June 5. "From chairing the House committee meetings and co-sponsoring the bill, this was truly an all-around team effort. This will bring a significant economic boost to the region and our state. I can't wait to continue this partnership as we work to build a great relationship with the Bears organization."

The new Hammond stadium facility is expected to generate jobs, tourism, and broader economic activity throughout Indiana for years to come.
