The Caston Comets football team is 2-0 for the first time since 2009.
The great start extended with a 45-0 shutout of North White on Friday.
A balanced rushing attack generated 299 yards and seven touchdowns as Caston blanked the Vikings for a second straight season. In 2025, the Comets won the Week 2 matchup, 55-0.
Caston jumped out to a two touchdown lead after one quarter then increased the lead to 26 by halftime. A 19-point third quarter created a running clock to the end of the contest.
The Comets only threw the ball twice as quarterback Logan Mollenkopf was 1-of-2 passing with a 34-yard completion to Landen Ricgney.
Four running backs each rushed for 45 yards or more. Rigney accounted for 78 yards on 8 carries. Ashton Bowyer rushed for 58 yards with teammates Tucker Woolever adding 47 and London Herd 45 yards.
Bowyer scored twice with a touchdown each for Wollever, Herd, Rigney, Mollenkopf, and Braxton Enyart.
Defensively, Woolever led the Comets with nine tackles. Rigney recorded two of the team's four sacks.
The Comets' schedule gets more challenging starting next week with a road trip to North Miami. The Warriors are 1-1 coming off Friday's 54-16 win over Taylor.
