A campaign finance complaint filed against Republican primary candidate Tom Flynn has been withdrawn, Marshall County Clerk Jenny Bennitt announced Tuesday morning.
Flynn ran for the County Council District 2 seat in last week's Republican Primary, where incumbent Deb Johnson defeated him.
On May 2nd, Bill Woodward filed a two-page complaint with the Marshall County Election Board, alleging that he had found “numerous errors” on Flynn's CFA-4 campaign finance report. Woodward also expressed suspicion that Flynn may have co-mingled personal funds with campaign funds.
During an Election Board meeting last Friday (5/8), when the board formally accepted the complaint, Flynn presented an amended CFA-4 report. The challenge hearing on Woodward’s complaint had been scheduled for Monday, May 18th.
However, Bennitt confirmed Tuesday that Woodward has since withdrawn the complaint, effectively ending the matter before the scheduled hearing.
