A California semi truck driver found himself jailed in the Putnam County Jail Monday after a traffic stop discovered 392 pounds of cocaine.
According to the Indiana State Police, troopers conducted a vehicle stop on a semi that was traveling eastbound and was speeding.
The driver was observed as having multiple criminal indicators of operating the vehicle below industry standards, according to police.
The driver, Harmandeep Singh, 27, Bakersfield, California, gave consent for officers to search the trailer and police found several duffel bags and boxes containing 392 pounds of cocaine. The drugs had a street value of almost $9 million.
Singh was arrested and charged with felony counts of dealing and possessing a narcotic drug.
