Garbage collection for the city of Bridgeport will remain with the same company.
The Bridgeport City Council Tuesday moved to roll over its existing contract with Republic Services. Mayor Tyler Griffin told GIANT fm WAKO News and the Lawrence County Post that the new contract will begin in September of this year and will include some rate increases for customers that were already in the original language.
The council did enter into a lengthy executive session of close to an hour, but took no action after emerging from discussions on a new water sales contract with the South Lawrence Water Corporation and also personnel matters.
