The Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC) is asking Ameren Illinois customers in Lawrence and surrounding counties to provide public comment on the utility's proposed natural gas rate hike at a pair of public hearings this week. The company filed a petition with the ICC for a $134 million general rate increase in January of 2025.
The hearings are scheduled for Wednesday from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at the CMS Regional Complex in Springfield, Illinois, and on Thursday from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at the New Life Community Church in East St. Louis, Ill.
Customers unable to attend the hearings can submit their comments via the ICC website or call the Consumer Services Division at 1-800-524-0795 during regular business hours.
