The Illinois State Police (ISP) Troop 9 based in Effingham have announced the results of recent Alcohol Countermeasure Enforcement (A.C.E.) patrols in southeastern Illinois.
Those patrols during April took place in Lawrence, Effingham, Marion and Wayne Counties and focused on impaired and illegal transportation or consumption of alcohol or drugs.
There were 3 DUI (Driving Under the Influence) citations, 2 alcohol/drug citations, 1 seatbelt violation, 8 registration offenses, 7 driver's license offenses, 3 insurance violations and 31 speeding violations.
The A.C.E. program allows for additional efforts to remove dangerous DUI offenders from the road and is funded through the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT).
